FOREVER-IN-A-MOMENT
Forever-in-a-moment. Everyone -- absolutely everyone -- has had the feeling of forever-in-a-moment.
It's that feeling of expansive joy, of love, of the sensation that all is well. It is a feeling of total relaxation in the present moment, while feeling the wonder of that moment, the wonder of being alive. This feeling of forever-in-a-moment connects us to all that ever was, is and will be, with profound awe.
Many people call this the feeling God.
However, that word, that little three-letter word has some deeply distressing associations because of the harmful, even horrific things humans have done in the name of that word throughout time. And are still doing.
So, if God is not your word, happily find other words. If it is your word, still try to find other words to help you to bring more richness and vibrancy to your relationship with this energy. Because that which I am calling forever-in-a-moment is your true nature. It’s what could be known as your soul. And it’s time for us to revel in and consciously radiate the experience of our true nature, of our soul when we are blessed enough to feel it.
How do you experience forever-in-a-moment? Do you feel it when you hold a baby or you kiss their tiny feet or smell their hair? Do you feel it spending time in nature, perhaps when taking a walk and consciously breathing in the fresh, life-force filled air and turning your precious face to soak in the sunlight? Do you feel it zooming with your family and friends, perhaps marveling at the technology that is bringing us together these days? Do you feel it when you watch a glorious sunset or see dolphins spring out of the ocean? Do you feel it when you catch someone you love looking at you with adoring, unconditionally loving eyes? Do you feel it in sexual pleasure? (Oo la la.) Do you feel it when you are praying or singing or meditating or dancing? Do you feel it when you are eating something you thoroughly enjoy, like an amazing pizza or an incredible soup that you made? Do you feel it when you laugh out loud with a dear friend? Do you feel it when you’re watching a divinely-genius comedy series like Schitt’s Creek? (Lordy, that show floats all my laughter-generated forever-in-a-moment boats!)
The actual situations that can elicit this incredible feeling of forever-in-a-moment are endless, because forever-in-a-moment exists everywhere and in every moment, if we are aware enough. And on this earth, we're all kind of super sleuths in a great mysterious game. I like to say that earth is the greatest computer game ever-written and the author is the forever-in-a-moment energy a.k.a. God/Goddess/ Great Spirit/ Buddha/Jesus/Baba/Love/Universe/Infinity/Our Higher Self/Higher Power/etc. The goal of this magnificently intricate game is to realize (to literally make real) the fact that you are that energy too and so is absolutely everyone and everything else. And that we are each inextricably connected to one another. That we are simply One.
We all long to realize this oneness. We are driven, literally hard-wired at our core, to seek the kind of eternal happiness that results from dissolving the delusion of being separate from anyone or anything. It’s our birthright, our soul right to seek it. And more importantly, we are meant to find it and experience it. Over and over again, until it becomes our permanent reality. Forever then becomes every moment. And it’s pure bliss.
Take some deep breaths right now. Cultivate that feeling, that inexplicable connection to the wonder and joy of creation that transcends all limitations of this realm. Let time and space dissolve in it. Bask in your true, eternal nature. And if you feel called, give thanks.
